We recently completed a project for Community Connections in Washington, DC. Community Connections is proud to be the largest not-for-profit mental health agency in the nation’s capital serving men, women and children. Since its founding in 1984, they have been committed to innovative and compassionate mental health services, addiction treatment, and residential care for the District of Columbia’s most vulnerable citizens. Passion and commitment helped Community Connections become a recognized national leader in the delivery of creative and constantly evolving, evidence-based services for consumers and the local community. Learn more about them, their clinical support and residential services, as well as the latest research initiatives and a wide scope of training opportunities by visiting their website.

This project was a retrofit of an existing custom reception station we designed, manufactured and installed for Community Connections about four years ago. This clinic has many visitors each month, so they had to install shields to protect the staff and their clients.  We used IOF Aluminum Framed Polycarbonate Shields for this project. These protective shields are available in various thicknesses and finishes, from clear to frosted or with a design. The mounting hardware is attractive and adapts to multiple applications. An important feature for Community Connections was that there be enough space at the bottom of the shields to pass documents back and forth. Since they are a health clinic, they need to have their patients complete forms during each visit, and this product fulfilled their request perfectly. Take a look at the pictures of the completed project and contact us to find out how we can help your workspace increase public health standards in the coming months.
