Google’s new Toronto office. Filled with eye-popping artwork.

Art in the Workplace is becoming more important and here’s why: The labor force in the  US is only expected to grow 0.7 percent between 2010 and 2020. The lack of growth in our workforce will ultimately lead to talent shortages that will challenge organizations to find and keep the best people.

Top companies like Google have raised the bar in workplace design with vibrant office spaces that offer flexibility on when, where and how workers work. It’s now more important than ever for employers to put some attention on the look and feel of their work environment.

It’s no longer a question of whether to use individual offices or an open-plan design. Today’s modern workplace should offer a variety of activity-based work settings including: impromptu meeting spaces, formal meeting rooms, project areas, individual work units and break areas.

Depending on the current state of one’s facility, moving to a more “talent attracting” work environment may seem daunting. There is, however, a simple way to get started in that direction – artwork.

Aside from keeping work areas clean and well maintained, the one thing that can be done to easily upgrade the look and feel of a space is to add attractive artwork.

The variety of art available, from image options to the medium it’s displayed on, makes it possible to create dramatic changes. Stick with framed fine art prints for a traditional look, use photography on acrylic for a more modern style or make an even bolder statement with large wall murals or street art.

Let us help your clients attract and retain the best people by making their workplace more visually appealing.
